About the Artist

Charlotte Pottieger is an artist from Charlottesville, VA where she lives with her husband, son, and two cats. She creates out of her home studio that serves as a respite from the hustle and bustle of motherhood and everyday life.

Charlotte returned to her childhood love of creating art after many years away from her palette. As a young adult, she admired other artists’ careers with a touch of envy, but felt that she had missed the chance to pursue a career as an artist. When her son was born, everything changed. She decided it was time to stop wishing, and start doing.

Charlotte works in acrylics and oil pastels to create colorful abstract and floral paintings that bring joy and beauty to a space. Her work is full of texture and blended colors along with delightful details to entertain the eye. When she isn’t in the studio, she enjoys dabbling in interior decorating, hunting for antiques and vintage finds, needlepointing, cooking and baking with her son, and hanging out with her husband as they sip their morning coffee.

Charlotte says, “When I am painting, time stops and I am totally at peace. I feel like I am doing what God created me to do and that brings me immense joy. I pray those qualities of peace and joy translate into the artwork and bring those elements into your home.”
